Filter & RoofExhaust Fan Cleaning
Grease filters and rooftop exhaust fans are the most overlooked fire hazards in any kitchen. We clean them thoroughly — keeping your system compliant and your building safe.
The Part EveryoneForgets to Clean.
Most kitchen exhaust cleanings stop at the hood. But the grease that doesn't get captured by the filters moves further into the duct system and accumulates in the rooftop exhaust fan. That fan runs hot, and grease-coated fan blades and housings are serious fire hazards — especially on Long Island restaurants that run high-volume kitchens year round.
Grease filters — whether baffle-style or mesh — need regular removal and degreasing. Clogged filters restrict airflow, which means your hood isn't pulling smoke and vapor out of the kitchen properly. That creates a worse cooking environment and pushes more grease into the duct.
We offer standalone filter and rooftop fan cleaning as part of a full system service or on its own. Either way, we follow NFPA 96 standards and provide documentation of the work.

Recommended Cleaning Frequency
- Baffle FiltersMonthly (high-volume) / Quarterly
- Mesh FiltersMonthly or more often
- Rooftop Exhaust FanSame schedule as duct cleaning
- Fan HousingEach service visit
Did You Know?
A grease-clogged exhaust fan can overheat and ignite in under 30 seconds of a kitchen fire. Proper rooftop fan cleaning is required by NFPA 96 and most insurance policies — but it's frequently skipped.
What We Do
Baffle Filter Cleaning
Baffle filters removed, soaked in degreaser, scrubbed, rinsed, and reinstalled. Restores full airflow and grease capture efficiency.
Mesh Filter Cleaning
Mesh-style filters cleaned and degreased. We check for damage and advise on replacement if needed.
Rooftop Fan Blade Cleaning
Fan blades cleaned to remove grease and carbon buildup. Reduces fire risk and extends motor life.
Fan Housing & Base
The fan housing and mounting base cleaned inside and out. Grease pooled around the base removed.
Grease Containment Check
We check that rooftop grease containment trays are in place and functional, per NFPA 96 requirements.
Documentation
Before & after photos provided. Certificate of cleaning issued for your records and insurance file.
